Afro House consigliere Sintra sits down with IWANTEDM staff to talk about his recent single ” Wait For Me” featuring Coach Harrison.) Known for his Lush bass lines and unique mixture of Afro house and Melodic house, Sintra shares the secrets behind his biggest inspirations and so much more in our recent interview.

What inspired this track/album?
” I was feeling very inspired by afro house and wanted to bring some of that sound into one of my records.”
What do you want your fans to feel or take away when they hear this track?
” I think art is up for interpretation so a fan or listener may not resonate with it in the same way I did. With that being said, this is one of my favorite tracks I’ve made recently and love the energy in this one. “
Is there a story behind the music? (Think festivals, personal moments, crazy studio sessions—anything goes!)
” This track has a lot of emotion and tells a story of overcoming heartbreak. When me and Howie linked in the studio we set out to just explore different sonic elements and do something different. We’re happy with where we landed. “
How did you get into making electronic music?
” I got into making music after attending Bonnaroo music festival when I was in college. I remember watching Flume perform and immediately wanting to learn more and explore music. “
What’s your biggest musical influence or artist you look up to?
” Flume was the reason I started making music so I have to mention him. A couple other artists that I look up to are Rufus Du Sol, The Jungle Giants, Camelphat, Odesza and Adriatique. “
If you could describe your sound in three words, what would they be?
” Lush, Rhythmic and Driving “
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you? (We love fun or unexpected facts!)
” I am a huge anime lover haha “
Any memorable festivals or gigs that shaped you as an artist?
” I would have to say The Ground on the first floor of Club Space. I’ve always dreamed of playing Club Space so recently getting to debut at The Ground on the first level was a dream come true. “
If you could play at any festival in the world, which one would it be and why?
” Coachella, this is a bucket list festival for me. “
Got a funny or wild story about your career so far? (Festival mishaps, surreal fan moments, etc.)
” Any time someone recognizes me as a fan it’s surreal. I still have not gotten used to that haha and it’s been happening more and more which I’m sure is a good sign. “
Is there a personal mantra or philosophy that guides your music?
” I try to let the music talk. I’ve always been a music forward person. “
Any upcoming tours, festivals, or projects we should keep an eye on?
