Following the astounding triumph of his track “Mellow Man” and an impressive year in 2024, Distinct Motive unveils a wonky new dubstep album titled “Dubs,” released via Deadbeats Records. After taking the internet by storm with his hit single, Distinct Motive has been diligently working on his debut EP for Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats. Featuring the wonky dubstep sound that fans adore, the new 5-track EP strives to push the limits of bass music.
Recognized for his distinctive approach to dubstep, the sound of Distinct Motive is undeniable when heard by the listener. Endorsed by prominent artists such as Fred Again and dubstep legend Skrillex, his intense beats are catching the attention of every major DJ. His meteoric rise in this breakout year has earned him spots at some of the top events in the industry. From Lost Lands to Bass Canyon, Distinct Motive is appearing across the country, sharing stages with Zeds Dead and Ganja White Night on their upcoming headlining tours.

Lets get down to brass tracks
The cosmic journey known as the Dubs EP opens with the infectious title track “Cells,” raining down bass-heavy wonk that rattles the brain and vibrates you off the map. Mr. Motives’ distinct soundscape resonates through with extreme precision. Hypnotizing the eardrums and engulfing the listener, “Cells” will have you bobbing your head and dropping it down low. It only gets better from here; my personal favorite of the EP, “Watchin You (feat. Illaman),” is sure to be the next summer anthem.
This monstrous collaboration is a total banger. Illaman’s hard-nosed lyrics go” hard in the mother f**kin’ paint, “ as they say. Packed with energy and getting every listener beyond hyped, this gritty track will have every crew going absolutely buck wild. And if you didn’t get enough of this infectious groove, don’t be disappointed because the next track on the EP is a stripped-down instrumental version for all my purists out there. Strangely enough, after indulging in these two masterpieces of music, I’m craving a slice of pizza by the end of the track.
The climax strikes hard as the track “ Mini ” comes into view. Demonstrating his versatile production style, this gritty track will lead you on a twisting and turning bass journey. With a playful and inventive mix of various bass sounds, Mini keeps you craving for more from this new EP. Just as gracefully as it began, Distinct Motive concludes the experience with “No Mystery,” delivering a wonky ride that lands ever so smoothly. The crowd sways left and right, as No Mystery’s spacey wub adds a distinctive flavor to this unconventional dubstep song.
