Reunited once again, Oden and Fatzo partner with fellow French artist THEOS and singer-songwriter Noa Milee on the funkadelic house track “Only You. “ The four first collaborated a little over a year ago on THEOS’ Raw EP for the track “Fly Away” and couldn’t ignore the strong collaborative mindset they all shared. Released by the renowned Defected Records, the UK’s foremost independent label for all things House, this five-minute and three-second track showcases why Defected has thrived for 25 years in the constantly changing music industry.
Opening in classic house style with groovy beats and melodic tunes that ease the listener into the track, it’s the deep funkadelic bass lines that truly punch through and stand out to me. Interwoven with the elegant vocal stylings of Milee, this track achieves perfect balance. With deep, resentful lyrics aimed at that of an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend, you can feel the pain in her soft, delicate voice as she croons about that ex significant other.
