What inspired Cyclops to dive into the world of electronic and bass music?

When I was in highschool, trap started getting really big and my friends and I would drive around in my buddies car and listen to like Baauer, Hucci, Gent And Jawns, Bro Safari etc. which kind of planted the initial interest in it. Then when I got to college, my roommate freshman year was really into electronic music and showed me so many more artists. This was like 2015-2016 when OWSLA was huge and like Jack U, Getter, Valentino Khan etc were all popping off

Can you share what fans can look forward to during the Cyclops tour? Any special surprises?

I have a brand new set in the works, lots of new music and collabs with Kompany, Flux Pavilion, NGHTMRE, Soltan and others on the way. We’ve also got a new set of visuals and an insane support lineup. I could not be more excited about doing this.

What exciting projects or releases can fans expect from Cyclops soon?

There’s a really huge collab dropping after Lost Lands that I can’t wait for! A few more headline shows coming after the tour in some cities I’ve never been to + we’ve also got exclusive jerseys for Bass Canyon and Lost Lands this year.

How do you feel your music has evolved over time, and what influences have shaped that journey?

When I started in 2016, I was very inspired by all the brostep & melodic dubstep stuff that was so dominant then from artists like Getter, Tisoki, Ray Volpe, Chime, Rob Gasser etc. Then around 2019 I felt like I was hopping between super melodic tracks and super heavy tracks lol so I made a choice to focus more on heavier / higher energy dubstep (I’ve always been a fan of heavy metal and this felt like a more natural fit to me). And I think in the last year or so my music has been mostly heavy with some weirder / bassier elements in it with more of a focus on clear ideas clear songwriting. I’m really happy with what I’ve been making and I feel like my fans appreciate both the heavy and weird elements of my music which is really cool to see

What message or experience do you hope to share with your audience through your music and live shows?

It’s kinda tacky but maybe just to have fun and not take things so seriously. I feel like there’s so much drama and ego stuff between different artists or on edm twitter we forget that this is supposed to be fun. Nothing is really that serious
