Get ready to add another festival to your bucket list, because the highly anticipated Ubbi Dubbi Festival is less than a month away. Ubbi Dubbi has chosen Fort. Worth, Texas to call home, and on April 27 – 28 the city will be hosting the festival complete with new experiences and a solid lineup of artists on three stages for a two day adventure. The festival may be new, but with Disco Donnie as the mastermind, you know this will be an amazing time. The most difficult part of this festival will be choosing who you will want to see if your favorites are performing at the same time on the Ubbi, Dubbi and Zoom Room stages.
While Texas is already home to the Austin City Limits music festival and SXSW, the number of EDM festivals in the state with this many powerhouse producers are few and far between. Many of the artists on the lineup, like Illenium, Dion Timmer, and Galantis, have been booked at most of the big festivals this year, but there are also a ton of artists who are on their way to the top and have created a lot of buzz with their music this year. Codeko, PEEKABOO and Black Frames are some of the newer artists with the earlier sets, so getting to the festival early is a must.
The freshman class of Ubbi Dubbi performers also features a number of up-and-coming female artists: GG Magree, Lucii, Milazzo, Xie, Saratonin and Zinnia. The Dubbi stage will be the place to post up when the festival opens on Saturday, because opening the show on this stage will be Saratonin doing a back to back with Zinnia – an energetic duo from the lonestar state who have been making moves all across Texas in a big way this year.
The novelty of Ubbi Dubbi is a major part of the excitement and appeal to attend. The build up for the festival started in fall of 2018, featuring the mascots Ubbi and Dubbi on their road to “their” festival. Games, contests, lineup drops and relatively less expensive tickets kept the mystery alive. Merch like limited edition jerseys and plush Ubbi and Dubbi characters were available months ago, and fans can purchase items to pick up at the festival for convenience.
As far as amenities go, Ubbi Dubbi appears to have the essentials plus some much appreciated additions. Water stations will be placed all throughout to keep people hydrated and safe. If you want a place to store your things while you are there, there are lockers that are available to reserve right now so that you are secured for the days you are there. The rest of the rules are pretty standard for festivals, but check the website before you go just in case. The Ubbi Dubbi website is very well organized and has the answer to pretty much anything.
If you were lucky enough to score tickets to the inaugural Ubbi Dubbi, anticipate even deeper connections with those who you meet there. The experience is new for everyone, so the memories will be rooted in the fact that you attended the first ever Ubbi Dubbi with your squad, deep in the heart of Texas.
