As he entered Ultra Miami 2018 festival gates, Tom Worcester had no idea he was about to embark on a life-altering journey to solve some of the most common problems that faced by the music festival community. At four years old, the combination of a pre-existing condition and an unfortunate accident with the kitchen table resulted in Tom losing 70% of his hearing. Years later Tom discovered his affinity for festivals. After spending years unable to hear high frequency, lyric-based music, the audible low frequency of a bass drop cemented Tom’s love of festivals and the festival community. When Tom’s Ultra 2018 experience was tainted by theft and hour long water lines (resulting in him missing the artist he was most excited to see) he knew he needed to come up with a solution to the problems facing his fellow festival attendees.
His solution? The Lunchbox.
The festival bag everyone’s buzzing about.
These experiences set off Tom’s year-long quest to conceptualize, design, and create Lunchbox- the first anti-theft hydration pack catered specifically to the needs of festival attendees. His research found that approximately 1 in 7 festival attendees is a victim of theft over the course of a weekend event. Lunchbox is designed to thwart pickpockets with an inward facing anti-theft zipper system — with access points against your back rather than standard outward facing zippers. In addition, the bag is constructed out of ballistic nylon, making it almost impossible for thieves to slice the bag and steal its contents. Lunchbox is also revolutionizing the hydration pack game with EasyFill, a patented system that refills your bag 3 times faster than standard hydration packs. Not to mention the bladder compartment is fully insulated, keeping your water cooler for longer.
One of the most exciting features of the bag is the interchangeable skin system, allowing you to effortlessly transform your Lunchbox look from one event to the next. Lunchbox is working with artists within the festival community to bring their designs to life on every Lunchbox skin. The first season of Lunchbox skins will be designed by Fancy Unicorns (@fancyunicorns_) and Festiheads (@festiheads). If that wasn’t enough, Lunchbox plans to unveil a feature that allows individuals to print whatever patterns they like on their skins. Couple that with Lunchbox’s electroluminescent light show wires, coming in shades ranging from sunset to snowfall, and you’re sure to stand out in any crowd! But the functionality and fun doesn’t stop there; from a front facing phone – pocket, to a charging wire path, to a sunglasses pouch, to side pockets, the Lunchbox anticipates and incorporates your every festival need.
In just a month – long Kickstarter campaign, Lunchbox raised 170% of desired funding! The product is receiving quite the buzz, with fans eagerly awaiting to find out just why Lunchbox is the last festival bag you’ll ever need.
