Making music for over a decade, TheLavish has honed his skills in music production and is looking forward to a big year ahead of releases and shows. Self proclaimed emotional and melodic, TheLavish has a unique style of music that is sure to gain even further traction in the future. We caught up with him to learn a bit more about his work and his life!

Hey, how are you? How’s everything going at the moment?

Fine thank you! It’s been quite hectic in the past weeks to be honest, with positive stress resulting in a lot of productions, remixes and releases.

Where do you call home?

Locally: Munich, the capital of contemplative Bavaria, Germany, but for me “home” is more a feeling than a location.

How did you start off in the Dance music scene, and when?

I produced several styles in my musical life. I started in 2003 with Psytrance, in which specific rules need to be followed in order to be respected in the scene. After this I also produced music in the New Age genre, Lounge/Chillout and club orientated music. Finally these production experiences and different approaches led to my new passion: Future House and more popish House sounds.

What makes your sound unique – and how would you describe it?

It is quite hard to describe music as my musical styles are changeable, but I would say my music has always an emotional or melodic part combined with a solid low end of kick and bass.

Who were your influences growing up?

Inspiration comes from everywhere! Even classical pieces! But vocals from EDM songs always make music which hit the feelings no matter what.

And what’s your ultimate career dream?

Collaborate with international artists from all areas of the world and different genres for two reasons:
1. To get more influences from other artists and witness their idea/expression of music
2. To show that we don’t have any boundaries or borders anymore these days.

Can you tell us about any upcoming releases and projects you’ve got lined up?

My new EP “I was Wrong” contains 3 unreleased tracks coming out on the 30th March, and I am working on a full length album scheduled for May 2018 to hit stores for the upcoming summer season!

What are your resolutions for the New Year?

I am too busy to stick to resolutions… ☺
Seriously: I am working on a music video with shufflers from around the globe, then connecting the dots by releasing music on recognised but also smaller, good labels and finalizing remixes every month.

Can you tell us something not many people know about TheLavish?

TheLavish travels the world filming landscapes and making emotional landscape videos.

Anything to add, or any shout outs?

“#METOO” is important!
