“It’s a little weird…a little different…but we like it…,” deadmau5 coyly affirmed during his final BBC Radio 1 show, and while the virtuoso was referring to an eclectic tune by the likes of Holy U & Mariatti, the same phrase would hold true for the entirety of mau5’s show.
Over the last 12 months, deadmau5’s taken over the airwaves of BBC, serving up an insatiable selection of utterly divergent tunes. Sadly, all things must come to an end, and Zimmerman’s show has reached its denouement. But in the spirit of giving, deadmau5 left listeners with some parting gifts.
Here’s what we know:

Not only did the producer confirm he will drop off a new album next year, he’ll be continuing his airwave domination in an exclusive capacity. And while the extent of it remains to be known, it’s an impressive venture to gain excitement about nonetheless.
Deadmau5 also left listeners with a new tune from the deservedly rising Rinzen, whose ascension this year was marked by a stunning cinematic EP. Zimmerman’s parting words mentioned a year of new Mau5trap signees, a new We Are Friends compilation set to drop on December 8, new tunes, a new tour, and new show.
Undeniably, 2018 will prove to be a fruitful year for the artist and his label mates.
