ZHU has had quite a bit up his sleeve recently. After announcing his New York Blacklizt warehouse party in April, the enigmatic artist released his chilling remix of Gorillaz’s “Andromeda.” Earlier this week, ZHU cryptically previewed the unsettling music video to “Intoxicate,” his first original production since his 2016 debut album, GENERATIONWHY.
Following its premiere during ZHU’s set at Ultra Music Festival, “Intoxicate” is now available in full to the public. The new output is one of the producer’s darkest singles to date, continuing the black-tinged themes which have dominated his aesthetic in the past year. Stirring chimes blend with deep vocals and cerebral bass patterns, cuing fans into what to expect from his Blacklizt performances, which promise to tow the line between techno and acid house.
