In June of 2016, revered producer Florian Kruse and vocalist Hendrik Burkhard released an eldritch collaboration Joris Voorn’s Green label. Voorn was impressed enough by “The Ground” to proffer his own official remix. With their newest output, the frequent partnership of Kruse and Burkhard have announced an official dual project bearing a restyling of their 2016 track’s name.
TheGround’s first EP, Raise Your Glass, features two originals from the duo – “Raise Your Glass” and “Ghost of Berlin.” The collection, which will be released Monday, February 20 via Coyu’s Suara imprint, also hosts a selection of official remixes. Following Joris Voorn’s suit, Coyu lends his own talents to his label’s newest release, teaming up with the enigmatic Bastian Bux to release a dark techno spin on the titular track.
American house veteran David Morales ups the ante by proffering two “Raise Your Glass” remixes. Dubbed “Red Zone Mixes,” an homage to Morales’ 1990s residency at New York’s legendary Red Zone, these remixes veer in a deep, entrancingly melodic direction. In his primary remix to the track, Morales places Burkhard’s subtle croons atop lush, repetitious melodies and calm, but lively rhythms. Morales also provides an instrumental version of the remix, which will be released exclusively via Traxsource.
