Friday, January 20, 2017, marked the 20th anniversary of Daft Punk‘s seminal Homework album, which included such classics as “Da Funk,” “Revolution 909,” and “Around the World.” The album which would introduce one of dance music’s most impactful acts also included “Teachers,” a playful track in which Daft Punk paid homage to a number of their influences. Among the “teachers” listed in the song are Green Velvet, Robert Hood, and Dr. Dre.

In honor of the landmark album’s 20th birthday, FACT commissioned a “Teachers”-inspired mix from music historian and devout Daft Punk fan CK. The musical archaeologist’s mix, which spans over an hour in length, is the third volume of his “Teachers” influence mixes – and only the tip of the iceberg. After crafting the mix for fact, CK took the initiative to laboriously compile a Spotify playlist with over a thousand more songs from Daft Punk influencers (1,018, to be exact).

CK’s extensive playlist presents the extraordinary breadth of Daft Punk’s influencers. The first hundred songs of the playlist alone range from electronic progenitors such as Carl Craig and Kraftwerk, to rock stars like David Bowie and Van Halen. Both CK’s playlist and mix are available to stream below:
